Ingredients

  • 6 cups Broccoli florets from 2 medium heads, rinsed and patted dry.
  • 3 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 3/4 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • Kosher salt and black pepper to taste
  • Squeeze of lemon juice optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit (232°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the broccoli florets with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine, ensuring all the florets are covered with oil and seasoning.
  • Spread the broccoli on a baking sheet in an even layer.
  • Place in oven and bake for 17-20 minutes, turning the baking tray halfway through. The broccoli is ready when lightly browned and crispy on the outside. Remove from oven. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the broccoli if you want extra flavor.
  • Serve oven-roasted broccoli hot as a side dish alongside your favorite entree!

Notes

  • Rather than flip the broccoli, rotate the baking sheet, turning the back of of the baking sheet to the front of the oven, to ensure even cooking.
  • Check on the broccoli after 15 minutes to see how much char the broccoli has. The broccoli will char quickly after 15-17 minutes. Keep an eye on it.
  • Use your favorite seasonings.
