Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar or light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In a small pot over medium heat, whisk together water and brown sugar and allow the mixture to come to a gentle boil. Stir continuously to prevent the sugar from burning and sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  • Continue whisking occasionally until the sugar completely dissolves into the water and the syrup has thickened, about 10 minutes.
  • Remove the pot from the heat and carefully stir in the vanilla extract. Allow the syrup to cool down to room temperature.
  • Once cooled, transfer the syrup to a clean glass bottle or a container with a tight-sealing lid.

Notes

  • Use about 1-2 Tablespoons of syrup per 1 cup of liquid.
  •  If you're looking to make a cookie dough flavored coffee syrup, whisk in 2
teaspoons of unsweetened coconut powder along with the sugar and water.
  • Use this syrup in your favorite beverages, desserts, pancakes, or use it to
sweeten up your coffee or cocktails.
  • Store the syrup in the refrigerator for up to a month.
