Slow Cooker Cheesy Hot Shrimp Dip

This Cheesy Hot Shrimp Dip is the perfect smooth and cheesy dip to serve at your next party. A deliciously seasoned cheese sauce that can be served as dip or poured over as a sauce.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 16 oz Velveeta cheese
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1.5 teaspoon cajun seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 10 oz can of tomatoes with green chilis undrained
  • 1 lb medium shrimp deveined, peeled, tails removed, and patted dry
  • 2 Green onion chopped

Instructions

  • Add cream cheese, lemon juice, Velveeta, cajun seasoning, garlic powder, and tomaoes with green chilis to the slow cooker insert. Set to low and cover. Cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add shrimp and cook for an additional 1 hr, stirring occasionally and making sure all the shrimp is covered.
  • During the last 20 minutes, set the cover ajar to thicken the sauce a little.
  • Sprinkle with green onions and serve. Enjoy.

Notes

I like to serve these with toasted bread buttered with garlic herb butter. Serving with chips also works.
