Slice cabbage into 1-inch thick pieces and place on a sheet pan. Rub the cabbage pieces with oil. Sprinkle sides with garlic powder, smoked paprika, kosher salt, and black pepper.
Roast for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, flip the cabbage steaks carefully. Continue roasting the steaks for an additional 10-15 minutes, until tender. Remove from the oven, serve, and enjoy.
Notes
A small or medium cabbage works great with this dish. Use a sharp knife to cut the cabbage into steaks.
Larger cabbages will take longer to cook.
For best carmelization, use a cast iron or dark sheet pan.
