Ingredients

  • 1 Small head of cabbage 1 cut into 1-inch slices
  • 3 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 3/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Slice cabbage into 1-inch thick pieces and place on a sheet pan. Rub the cabbage pieces with oil. Sprinkle sides with garlic powder, smoked paprika, kosher salt, and black pepper.
  • Roast for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, flip the cabbage steaks carefully. Continue roasting the steaks for an additional 10-15 minutes, until tender. Remove from the oven, serve, and enjoy.

Notes

  • A small or medium cabbage works great with this dish. Use a sharp knife to cut the cabbage into steaks.
  • Larger cabbages will take longer to cook.
  • For best carmelization, use a cast iron or dark sheet pan.
