Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Turnips peeled and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Place the turnip pieces into a large pot and cover it with 2 inches of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium and simmer until the turnips are tender, about 20-25 minutes.
  • Drain the turnips and return them to the pot. Use a potato masher or electric hand mixer until they are smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.

Notes

  • You can add milk, cream, or butter to make it creamy, similar to mashed potatoes. If adding milk or cream, add about ½ cup of milk and 2-3 Tablespoons of butter.
  • You can also add fresh herbs, like chives or parsley, for additional flavor or garnish.
