Recipe Variations

Chai Spice Cinnamon Butter: Elevate your butter with the aromatic spices of chai. Add a pinch of ground cardamom, cloves, ginger, and nutmeg to the cinnamon butter mixture. This variation is perfect for adding a cozy, spiced twist to your morning bagels or oatmeal.

Chocolate Cinnamon Butter: Satisfy your chocolate cravings by mixing in a tablespoon of cocoa powder or melted chocolate chips with your cinnamon butter. The combination of chocolate and cinnamon creates a yummy spread for crepes, French toast, or even as a dip for fresh fruit.

Pumpkin Spice Cinnamon Butter: Embrace the flavors of the fall season by blending pumpkin spice into your cinnamon butter. This variation is a delightful addition to muffins, quick bread, or even stirred into a warm bowl of oatmeal.

FAQ's

Can I freeze cinnamon butter?

Yes, you can freeze butter for up to three months. Thaw it in the refrigerator before use.

Can I use salted butter instead of unsalted?

While you can use salted butter, using unsalted butter allows you to control the level of saltiness in the final product. If using salted butter, omit the salt from the recipe.

How long does cinnamon butter last?

Properly stored in the refrigerator, this butter can remain fresh for up to two weeks.

Notes

  • Ensure the unsalted butter is at room temperature. If it's not, you can soften it quickly by microwaving it on a low setting in short bursts, being careful not to melt it.
  • This butter is not just for bread or muffins; it's a versatile spread that can also be melted over cooked carrots, yams, or even used in baked goods for an extra layer of flavor.
